Classification of brakes
There are many braking system types created for our safety. This brake is created to make our vehicle to stop in time to avoid accidents in safe distance. Hand brake is also known as parking brake control by hand. Parking and emergency braking systems is a mechanical force to stop vehicle in case of emergency. These braking systems are used to prevent vehicle motion when parked at place or on slopes.
These systems begin when brake is applied by pulling and release by pushing button and pressing lever down. In this type, cable connects hand lever to brake. In many automobiles, these braking systems will bypass other braking systems by running directly to brake. This is useful in case that your braking system fails.
Types of Brakes
Today, there are common of brakes like hydraulic, frictional pumping, electromagnetic and servo. Of course, there are additional brakes to operate smooth on different road conditions and circumstances. Accidents often happen due to poor braking systems. Electromagnetic Brake System

Antilock Brake System (ABS)
Anti-lock brake system change brake pressure along with the wheels, allowing driver to control and maintain speed, as well as to stop vehicle in the shortest distance. In some vehicles we may find that there are more than one of these braking systems included.
Frictional Brake system
Frictional brake system is found in many automobiles. They are service brakes and found in two forms like pads and shoes. These brakes use friction to stop the automobile from moving. They include rotating device with stationary pad and rotating weather surface. Internal expanding shoe brakes are used in automobiles. In an automobile, wheel is fitted on wheel drum and brake shoes come with inner surface of drum to apply brakes.
Hydraulic brakes are used in automobiles. Hydraulic brake uses brake fluid to transfer of pressure from brake pedal to pads or shoes pads or shoes. This force can be increased or decreased at wheels by cylinder sizes.
Air brakes are applied by pressure of air and pressure applies force on brakes shoes through linkages to operate brakes. An air compressor is used to compress air and this compressor is run by engine power.
Vacuum brakes are piston or diaphragm operating in cylinder. One side of piston is focus to atmospheric pressure while other is applied vacuum by exhausting air from this side. Due to difference of pressure force acts on piston. This force is used to operate brake through linkages. Additionally, these braking systems are only effective while engine is still running.
Action on Front or Rear Wheels
Brake system consists of disk brakes in front and drum brakes in rear connected by system of tubes. Other systems are connected with brake system is parking brakes, power brake booster and anti-lock system.
Method of braking contact
When you step on brake pedal, you are pressed to apply brakes and piston in cylinder forces brake fluid. This increase pressure of fluid and pressure is transfer in all pipes and wheel cylinders according Pascal’s law.
